Address Eligibility and Delivery Spots for Zipline Drone Delivery
This article explains how to check whether your address is eligible for Zipline delivery, why service may differ between nearby addresses, how delivery spots work, and what happens if an address or delivery spot becomes unavailable.
How do I check if Zipline can deliver to my address?
The easiest way to check is through the Zipline app.
Open the Zipline app and tap Get started.
Enter your street address in the search field.
Select your address from the suggested results.
Do not include an apartment, unit, lot, or suite number when searching.
If your address is serviceable, an aerial image will appear showing the approved delivery spot or spots available at that location.
Select your preferred available delivery spot and confirm it.
If the address is not currently serviceable, the app will let you know.
Why isn't my address eligible for Zipline delivery?
An address can be unavailable for several reasons. Eligibility is determined by Zipline's systems based on safety, regulatory, geographic, and operational requirements.
Common reasons include:
Service area and phased expansion
Zipline expands delivery service gradually. Your neighborhood or address may simply not be included in the current service area yet.
An address near the edge of an operating area may also be outside the available flight range.
Airspace or regulatory requirements
Some locations may be affected by aviation requirements, controlled or restricted airspace, flight-path limitations, or other regulatory restrictions.
These restrictions can sometimes affect one neighborhood or address while nearby locations remain serviceable.
Trees, wires, buildings, or other obstacles
Safe drone delivery requires suitable access to an approved delivery area.
Conditions that may affect eligibility include:
Dense trees or vegetation
Power lines, utility wires, antennas, or poles
Tall buildings or other nearby structures
Construction equipment or temporary obstacles
Limited open space around the delivery area
Other physical conditions that make a safe delivery difficult
No suitable delivery spot
An address must have at least one location that Zipline can approve for safe delivery.
A location may not be suitable if there is not enough clear space or if the proposed area contains obstacles that could interfere with delivery.
Mapping or address information
New homes, subdivisions, or recently developed areas may not yet be fully represented in the mapping information used to determine serviceability.
Additionally, addresses without publicly available property boundary data cannot have a delivery drop location configured. Once that data is published and integrated into Zipline's systems, the address can be evaluated for serviceability. Property boundary data availability can vary by state.
Make sure the address entered in the app matches one of the suggested addresses.
Why can my neighbor get delivery when I can't?
Eligibility can vary from one property to another, even when the addresses are very close together.
For example, your property may have:
More tree coverage
Power lines or other overhead obstacles
A different flight path
No approved delivery area
Different airspace or operating constraints
Mapping differences
Because eligibility is evaluated at the individual location level, a nearby eligible address does not necessarily mean your address can also be served.
Can Customer Support enable my address?
No.
Address availability is determined by Zipline's systems and operational requirements. Customer Support cannot manually add an address to the service area or override an eligibility restriction.
If your address becomes eligible in the future, availability will be updated through Zipline's systems.
What should I do if I think my address should be eligible?
First, confirm that your address was entered correctly.
You can try:
Re-entering the street address in the Zipline app.
Selecting the address from the suggested search results.
Leaving apartment, unit, suite, or lot information out of the address search.
Confirming any available delivery spot shown for the property.
If the app still shows that the address is unavailable, there may be a service-area, safety, mapping, or operational restriction.
Will my address become eligible later?
It may.
Zipline continues to expand service and operating capabilities over time, but there is no guaranteed timeline for when a particular address or neighborhood will become eligible.
Keep the Zipline app installed and notifications enabled so you can receive updates when service becomes available.
You can also join the Zipline delivery waitlist at flyzipline.com/get-delivery.
I used to have Zipline delivery, but now I don't. Why?
An address that was previously available may sometimes become unavailable.
This can happen when:
Service areas change
Safety conditions change
Airspace or regulatory requirements change
New obstacles or environmental conditions are identified
Zipline makes operational or system changes
A delivery location requires additional review
Availability can change over time as Zipline's operating environment, technology, and safety requirements evolve.
Delivery Spots
What is a delivery spot?
Your delivery spot is the approved location at your address where Zipline will attempt to deliver your order.
An address may have one or more approved delivery spots.
Can I change my delivery spot?
Yes, if more than one approved delivery spot is available for your address.
Before placing an order:
Open your address or delivery-point settings in the Zipline app.
Review the available delivery spots.
Select the location you want.
Confirm your selection before placing the order.
Can I change the delivery spot after placing an order?
No.
Once an order is in progress, its delivery spot cannot be changed.
If the selected location is incorrect, you may need to cancel the order if cancellation is still available and place a new order using the correct delivery spot.
Why can't I select another delivery spot?
Your address may currently have only one approved location.
If another area of your property may be suitable for delivery, you can contact Customer Support about having an additional delivery location reviewed.
You may be asked to provide clear photos showing the proposed area and nearby surroundings.
What makes a good delivery spot?
Keep the approved delivery area as clear as possible.
Avoid:
Vehicles
Patio furniture
Toys or playground equipment
Trash cans
Loose objects
Pets
People standing in the delivery area
Temporary equipment or construction materials
Trees, wires, structures, and other permanent obstacles can also affect whether an area can be approved.
Why did my delivery go to a different spot?
Zipline's safety systems may determine that the selected delivery spot is not suitable during a particular delivery attempt.
If another approved location is available at the same address, the system may use an alternate delivery spot to complete the delivery safely.
If your order was delivered somewhere that was not an approved delivery spot for your address, contact Customer Support so the delivery can be reviewed.
Why did the drone hover and leave without delivering?
A delivery attempt may be stopped if Zipline's systems detect something that could make the delivery unsafe.
The aircraft may leave the area and return without releasing the order.
Depending on the situation, another delivery attempt may be made.
Keeping the delivery area clear of people, pets, vehicles, and other obstacles helps reduce the likelihood of an unsuccessful attempt.
Address or Delivery Spot Disablement
Why might my address or delivery spot be disabled?
Zipline may temporarily disable an address or delivery spot when repeated or significant safety concerns are identified.
Examples include:
Obstacles in the delivery area
People entering or interfering with the delivery area
Pets interfering with a delivery
Changes to the physical environment
Conditions that prevent a safe delivery attempt
In some cases, Zipline may disable only a particular delivery spot rather than the entire address.
How can I help prevent my address from being disabled?
Before a delivery:
Keep the delivery area clear.
Keep pets away from the delivery location.
Keep children and other people clear during delivery.
Do not approach or interfere with the aircraft or delivery equipment.
Remove temporary obstacles whenever possible.
Can a disabled address or delivery spot be restored?
Potentially.
If the condition that caused the restriction has been corrected, the location may be reviewed again.
For example, you may need to:
Remove obstacles
Trim vegetation
Keep pets away from the delivery area
Provide updated photos
Identify another suitable delivery location
Re-enablement depends on the location meeting Zipline's safety and serviceability requirements after review.
What should I do if my delivery spot looks wrong in the app?
Before placing an order, review the delivery spot shown in the app.
If it appears incorrect:
Re-enter your address to refresh the available delivery spots.
Select the correct approved location if more than one is available.
Confirm the selection before ordering.
If the correct location is not available, contact Customer Support for assistance.
What if my order was delivered to the wrong yard or location?
First, check the delivery spot shown for that order in the Zipline app.
If the correct location was selected but the order was delivered somewhere else, contact Customer Support so the delivery can be reviewed.
If the wrong delivery spot was selected when the order was placed, update your selection before placing your next order.
Service Expansion
Zipline delivery is introduced gradually as new areas become operationally and safely serviceable.
There is no specific timeline available for individual addresses.
When the app shows that Zipline is expanding, it means service is currently available only in selected areas and additional locations are expected to become available over time.
Customer Support cannot manually accelerate or override this process.
