Why are products not available in the Zipline app when I see them in the store?

Updated this week

Zipline's catalog of products is a subset of items available at our partner stores. Not all products available in store may be available via Zipline delivery for a number of reasons.

Authorization to sell products

The partner store doesn't allow Zipline to sell certain products. Zipline's catalog is governed by what the store allows us to sell on their behalf.

Regulations prevent selling products

Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations prevent us from flying certain products deemed hazardous material. These can include things which are flammable, caustic, corrosive, or otherwise dangerous to transport. This may include liquid products, oil-based products, certain types of batteries or products containing some types of batteries, certain prescription medications, or any other items that are illegal or prohibited by the FAA's existing regulations.

Changes in inventory information

Inventory information provided by partner stores may temporarily or permanently remove items from the Zipline app. These inventory changes are not controlled by Zipline. If you've seen something in the Zipline app previously and can no longer find it, it may have been removed by the partner store. You may always request access to this product through Zipline and we will send requests for products to our partner stores for consideration.Inventory updates may also reflect live changes at partner stores. If an item is out of stock temporarily, it might disappear from the app but reappear once restocking is completed. Users can check back later in the day for availability.

Temporary out of stock situations may remove items from the Zipline catalog. When partner stores update our inventory data, if products are out of stock in store, the Zipline app will reflect that. This might cause items to temporarily disappear from search results, but they should return once the store completes restocking.

Seasonal products

Seasonal items may only be available during certain times of the year in the Zipline app.

Items are too heavy to transport

Regulations apply to how much weight Zipline can deliver per flight. If items are too heavy to fly, they will not be available for order in the Zipline app. For example, large packages may be excluded from delivery due to their weight, while smaller or lighter alternatives might still be deliverable.

Items are too big to transport

Dimensional constraints of our aircraft limit Zipline's ability to delivery certain products. If they can't fit inside the compartment of the Delivery Zip, they shouldn't be available for sale and will need to be marked as unavailable. For instance, items that cannot fit in the delivery compartment will be excluded from availability.

Can I request new products be added to the Zipline app for sale?

You can recommend or request products be made available through our partner stores. Zipline will pass such requests to the partner store, but Zipline cannot guarantee products will be added.
